The Best Hyatt Hotels in Bali, Ranked (2026)
Hyatt has more hotels in Bali than most people realise: seven, across the Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Andaz and Alila brands. They run from big family resorts to clifftop villas. Alila Seminyak is my top pick for most people, thanks to its beachfront sunset pools and restaurants you can walk to. You can see all the other options below.
I’ve ranked six of them. The seventh is a long way out east, and I explain why it’s not here at the end.
- Alila Seminyak: sunset pools and dinner on foot.
- Andaz Bali: the best rooms short of a cliff villa, in Sanur.
- Alila Villas Uluwatu: the splurge, for couples.
- Hyatt Regency Bali: the best value, next door to the Andaz.
- Grand Hyatt Bali: the one for kids, in Nusa Dua.
- Alila Ubud: a jungle pool for mid-range money.
Alila Seminyak
If I could book one Hyatt in Bali, it’s this one. It’s my top luxury pick in Seminyak too. It gets the basics of a Bali holiday right. You’re on the beach, the pools face the sunset, and you can walk to dinner.
It’s also calmer than you’d expect in Seminyak. The streets outside are busy, but inside it’s quiet, and sunset by the pools is the best hour of the day.
It’s right on the beach at Petitenget, at the north end of Seminyak, and the sun goes down over the pools every night.
There are several infinity pools facing the sea. The Serene Pool is adults-only, for 18 and over, and that’s where I’d spend my afternoons.
What I like most is that you can walk to dinner. Eat Street is about 4 minutes away, and Potato Head is a short walk along the beach. No other hotel on this list puts you this close to Bali’s best restaurants.
Seasalt, the restaurant on the sand, does a great breakfast, and the bikes are free.
It works for families too. The Play Alila kids club takes kids up to 12, daily from 8 am to 5 pm.
Don’t plan on swimming in the sea either. Seminyak is a surf beach with rips, so the pools do the work. The standard rooms take two adults only, so a family of four needs a suite. Every suite fits four comfortably.
Book it if you're a couple, friends or a family with one child who'll book a suite and want sunset pools and dinner within walking distance.
Skip it if the budget only stretches to a standard room, or you want to swim in the sea.
Andaz Bali
If the room is what matters most, I’d book the Andaz. It has the best rooms of any Hyatt here short of the Uluwatu villas, and it works for couples and families, which is rare.
It sits in central Sanur, right next door to the Hyatt Regency, and it’s laid out like a Balinese village. With 149 rooms and villas it’s less than half the size of its neighbour, and you feel it.
The rooms are what I’d pay for. They’re much bigger than the Regency’s and beautifully finished. Book a Lagoon Access room and you step off your terrace into the water.
Breakfast is the other highlight. It’s spread across the restaurants around the Village Square, and I think it’s the best breakfast in Sanur. Kids get the Kemu Mai kids club, for ages 4 to 12, and a shallow pool of their own.
The catch: there’s no spa or gym of its own. You walk 5–10 minutes next door to use the Hyatt Regency’s. At this price, I’d want my own.
It also costs a lot more than the Regency. And the kids club is only free for the first 2 hours a day.
Book it if you want the best room in Sanur, as a couple or a family, and you'll pay for it.
Skip it if you want a spa on site, or you'd rather pay much less next door.
Alila Villas Uluwatu
This would be my top pick if money didn’t come into it. It does, which is why it’s third. Every room is a villa with its own pool, high on the cliffs, and it’s the top pick in my Uluwatu guide. The sunsets beat anything else on this list.
The name makes it sound like a villa rental, but it’s a full resort, with butlers, 24-hour room service and its own restaurants. You’re mostly paying for privacy, and I think the service is the best of any Hyatt in Bali.
My favourite spot is the Sunset Cabana, a cocktail bar built out over the edge of the cliff. I’d be there every evening.
The catch: the price. There’s no cheap room here. A one-bedroom pool villa usually costs three to five times anything else on this list.
The beach isn’t really a beach, either. It’s 500-plus steps down a cliff path, and the water there is for looking at, not swimming. Great view… shame about the climb back up.
A few more things I’d want to know before booking:
- There’s no kids club, and no kids facilities to speak of.
- Bugs and monkeys come with the clifftop. Ants get in, and the monkeys come early. Don’t leave food out.
- Dinner is expensive and hit and miss. Breakfast is the better meal.
- There’s a beach club next door, and on a busy night you can hear it.
I’d book it as a couple, for a honeymoon or a big birthday. With kids, I’d book the Andaz and spend the difference on a longer trip.
It’s about 45 minutes from the airport, more than an hour in traffic.
Book it if it's a honeymoon or a big birthday and you want your own pool on a cliff.
Skip it if you want a beach you can swim at, a kids club or anything close to value.
Hyatt Regency Bali
For the money, I don’t think there’s a better Hyatt in Bali. It’s my top pick in Sanur, and it costs a lot less than the Andaz next door.
You get 9 hectares of beachfront gardens in the middle of Sanur. I think it’s the nicer of the two big Hyatt family resorts, which is why it ranks above the Grand Hyatt.
The main pool has a swim-through replica of the Goa Gajah cave. There’s a kids pool and a lap pool too, and a kids club.
My tip: get club access. The Regency Club lounge does breakfast, food through the day and evening drinks, and I think it changes the whole stay. Don’t miss the Pizzaria on the beach either.
The catch: the rooms are small and dated, and the walls are thin. So I wouldn’t book the entry room. Book a Deluxe or higher, ideally with club access.
It’s also a big hotel, more than twice the size of the Andaz, and pool beds go fast. If you want a quiet, intimate stay, that’s the Andaz.
Book it if you want a proper beachfront resort with great pools and a club lounge, for mid-range money.
Skip it if a big, modern room matters more to you than the gardens.
Grand Hyatt Bali
With kids under 12, this is the Hyatt I’d book. It’s my top family pick in Nusa Dua too. It has more pools than any other Hyatt in Bali, spread over 41 acres in Nusa Dua. The River Pool has a 50-metre slide the grown-ups ride too.
The rooms help families as well. They’re about 49 square metres, and every one has a built-in daybed for up to two small kids, so there’s no rollaway charge.
It’s on the beach inside the gated area, and Bali Collection is across the road. You can walk to a dozen restaurants, which is rare in Nusa Dua.
The Oceania Kids Club takes ages 3 to 12, from 9am to 6pm. The first 2 hours a day are free, then it’s charged.
It ranks below the Regency because of the rooms. This is a classic 1990s Bali hotel, and you’ll notice it the second you walk in.
The catch: the hotel refreshed the rooms in 2026, but don’t expect a new hotel. It’s also huge, with 636 rooms, so the walks are long and breakfast is a crowd at peak times.
It’s the cheapest hotel on this list.
Book it if you've got kids under 12 and want the most pool and slide for your money.
Skip it if a stylish, modern room matters more to you than the pools.
Alila Ubud
The Alila Ubud is the surprise on this list. The Alila name suggests big money, but it usually costs less than the Hyatt Regency. I think it’s much better than its price suggests.
It sits in the Ayung River valley at Payangan, outside central Ubud. The 25-metre infinity pool hangs over the jungle, and I think it’s the reason to book.
I’d skip the Superior rooms, which are 30 square metres with a shower only. Book a Deluxe instead. It’s 65 square metres, with a garden terrace and an outdoor bath. For your own pool, it’s the Pool Villa.
There’s free yoga, free bikes and a free shuttle into town.
It’s last because it’s a long way out and it’s getting old. It’s about 1.5 hours from the airport, and you need the shuttle or a driver to get to Ubud’s restaurants. Check the shuttle times before you book, because that’s how you’ll get to dinner.
The catch: it’s dated, and some rooms smell musty. There’s one pool, which gets busy, and a lot of steps. There are no kids facilities, and wild monkeys wander through.
I’d book 3 or 4 nights here at the start of a trip, then head to the coast.
Book it if you want a jungle pool and a quiet few nights for mid-range money, as a couple or with older kids.
Skip it if you want to walk to Ubud's restaurants, or you've got toddlers.
Andaz vs Hyatt Regency
The Andaz is the smaller, more luxurious stay, laid out like a village. The Hyatt Regency is a big resort built for families. They’re next-door neighbours on the Sanur beach path, linked by a 5–7 minute footpath.
- Price. The Andaz costs a lot more than the Regency.
- Rooms. The Andaz wins easily. Its rooms are bigger and newer, and it opened in 2021. The Regency’s are small, with thin walls.
- Size. The Andaz has 149 rooms and villas. The Regency is more than twice the size, with big gardens and busier pools.
- Pools. I think the Regency’s cave pool is the more fun pool. The Andaz has the Lagoon Access rooms.
- Spa and gym. The Regency has them. At the Andaz, you walk over and use the Regency’s.
My pick: if I’m paying for the Andaz, I’m booking Lagoon Access. Otherwise I’d take a club room at the Regency and keep the difference.
Andaz vs Alila Seminyak
Both are beachfront 5-stars, so it comes down to whether you want a night out. Sanur is quiet, a bit grey-haired and in bed early. Seminyak has the restaurants, beach clubs and sunsets.
- Going out. From Alila Seminyak, Eat Street is about a 4-minute walk. From the Andaz, it’s the beach path, its cafés and the Sindhu night market.
- The beach. Sanur’s water is calm and reef-protected, and good for kids at high tide. Seminyak is surf, so look but don’t swim.
- Rooms. The Andaz is newer, and its rooms are bigger and in better shape. Alila Seminyak’s standard rooms are small, dated and in a separate building, so book a suite there.
- Pools. Seminyak wins for couples, with sunset infinity pools and an 18-plus pool. The Andaz has the lagoon rooms and a kids pool.
- Kids. Both have a kids club for 4 to 12s. The Andaz has bigger rooms for a family of four, and a sea the kids can swim in at high tide.
- Price. Alila Seminyak is usually a little cheaper than the Andaz.
My pick: Alila Seminyak, as a couple or with one child, for the sunsets and the dinners. I’d switch to the Andaz if you want quiet, or you’ve got two kids who’ll want the sea.
Hyatt Regency vs Grand Hyatt
The Grand Hyatt is a giant Nusa Dua resort built around the kids, with nearly twice the rooms. I think the Hyatt Regency is calmer, more grown-up and the more luxurious of the two, with Sanur’s beach path on its doorstep.
- Beach. Both are tidal, so you swim in the sea at high tide either way.
- Pools and kids. The Grand Hyatt wins. It has more pools, the 50-metre slide, a toddler lagoon and a kids club for ages 3 to 12, with 2 free hours a day.
- Rooms. The Grand Hyatt’s are bigger, with a daybed for the kids, but they look like the 1990s. The Regency’s are smaller, with thin walls. Neither is new.
- Getting out. In Sanur you’ve got the beach path, its cafés and the Sindhu night market. In Nusa Dua it’s Bali Collection across the road.
- Price. The Grand Hyatt is usually a little cheaper.
My pick: with kids under 10 who’ll live in the pool, the Grand Hyatt. As a couple, or a family who likes to get out and walk, the Regency.
Not on my list
Alila Manggis. The seventh Hyatt in Bali is a small, low-key resort on the east coast near Candidasa. It’s 75–90 minutes from the airport and the beach out front isn’t much good. I’d only book it as a couple who want to hide away for a few nights.
So, which one should you book?
- If I could only book one: Alila Seminyak, for the beach, the sunsets and dinner on foot.
- Kids under 12: the Grand Hyatt, for the pools and the slide.
- A honeymoon: Alila Villas Uluwatu. Not with kids.
- The most hotel for your money: the Hyatt Regency, with club access.
