The Best Accor Hotels in Bali, Ranked (2026)
Accor has around 20 hotels in Bali, but most of the big names people expect are gone. There’s no Fairmont and no MGallery any more, and much of what’s left is Novotels and Mercures. The Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua is my top pick for most people, thanks to its swim-out lagoon rooms and a kids club on the sand. You can see all the other options below.
I’ve ranked five, for what I’d spend my own money on.
- Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua: swim-out rooms and a kids club, on the beach.
- Raffles Bali: butlers and a pool villa over Jimbaran Bay.
- Buahan: open-air villas in the jungle, for couples.
- Mövenpick Jimbaran: the one for a family of four.
- Pullman Legian: a rooftop sunset pool and Legian on foot.
Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort
If I could book one Accor hotel in Bali, it’s this one. It works for a couple and a family alike, which nothing else on this list does, and it’s right on the sand.
The pools are the reason. The main lagoon pool is over 70 metres long, with a swim-up bar. A second lagoon winds past the ground-floor Pool Access rooms, so you step off your terrace and swim to the main pool. That’s the room I’d book.
Every room, suite and villa was refurbished, finishing in 2022. Even the entry room is 48 square metres, with marble floors and a bath.
The Kids Villa takes kids up to 12, daily from 9 am to 6 pm, and the first 2 hours a day are free. Under-4s need a parent with them. The kids pool next door has a sandy bottom and a small slide.
It’s at the north end of the gated Nusa Dua area, about 25 minutes from the airport, 45 in traffic. The water is calm but tidal, so you swim in the sea at high tide. Bali Collection’s restaurants are about a 15-minute walk.
The catch: the standard rooms take three people, no exceptions. A family of four is booking a suite, a two-bedroom villa or two rooms.
Some ground-floor pool rooms smell damp, so I’d check yours and ask to move if it does. Mosquitoes come out around the lagoon at dusk. And a beach club on the hotel’s own stretch of sand plays music from the afternoon into the evening.
Book it if you're a couple or a family of three who want a swim-out room and a kids club on the beach.
Skip it if you're a family of four who want one standard room, or your kids want a big waterslide.
Raffles Bali
Raffles Bali is the one true luxury hotel in Accor’s Bali line-up, and it’s very good. There are just 32 villas on a hillside above Jimbaran Bay, and every one has its own pool.
The service is what I’d come for. You get a butler, and it’s about as personal as hotels in Bali get.
I’d plan my evenings around the food. The Writers Bar sits at the top of the hill, and it’s where I’d be for sunset cocktails. The Secret Cave takes one couple a night, for a private candlelit dinner, so book it early. Since July 2026, the beach restaurant has been cooking Peruvian.
It’s also the easiest splurge in Bali to get to, about 20 minutes from the airport, 40 in traffic.
The catch: the view has a runway in it. The resort looks across the bay at the airport, so you’ll watch planes take off from your villa, and in some villas you’ll hear them. The Hilltop villas sit highest, with more privacy and less of the bay. Otherwise, ask for a villa angled away from the runway.
As of October 2026, something is being built on the land next door, and you can hear it during the day.
The beach isn’t one for swimming either. The waves are rough, so you use the lap pool by the sand. There’s no kids club, you can’t walk out for dinner, and the hillside brings mosquitoes, so pack repellent.
I’d book it as a couple, for a honeymoon or a big anniversary.
Book it if you want a butler, privacy and your own pool above Jimbaran Bay, and planes in the view won't bother you.
Skip it if you want a beach to swim at, a kids club or a view with no runway in it.
Buahan, a Banyan Tree Escape
Buahan is a Banyan Tree hotel, not an Accor brand, but you book it through Accor. I’m glad it’s on the list, because it’s the most different hotel I know of in Bali.
The 16 villas have no walls and no doors. Each one is an open-air balé on a jungle hillside above the Ayung River, with a bed, a copper bathtub and your own pool. Nothing sits between you and the valley. You fall asleep to the river and wake up already in the view.
It feels deeply Balinese. A Balinese architect designed it, almost all the staff are local, and dinner is a set menu, mostly plant-based, that changes every night.
The entry Rainforest balé is lovely. If you can stretch, I’d book a Seven Peaks or Above the Waterfall balé, which add a free minibar, a host of your own and a return shuttle into Ubud.
It’s adults-only, so this one is for couples.
The catch: open-air means open-air. You hear every downpour, and the birds start at 5 am. In the wet season, roughly November to March, the mosquitoes are worse and rain can blow in and dampen the bedding. I’d only book it between May and October.
From November 2026 to early March 2027, part of the resort is being modernised and the lift down the hillside is out. Expect a lot of steps and some daytime noise. It’s remote too, about 40 minutes from central Ubud and 2 hours from the airport.
My Ubud luxury guide puts it up against Mandapa and the Four Seasons.
Book it if you're a couple who want something wild, and you can go between May and October.
Skip it if you're a light sleeper, you struggle with stairs or you want to be near town.
Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali
With two kids under 12, this is the Accor I’d book. It’s a big family resort for mid-range money, a short walk from Jimbaran Bay’s seafood dinners on the sand.
The room is the reason. The Family Duplex gives parents a king bedroom downstairs and the kids their own room upstairs. Very few Bali hotels at this price do that, and it’s why I’d pick the Mövenpick over the Sofitel for a family of four.
The pool area is huge, with swim-up hammocks and a separate kids pool. The pirate-themed kids club takes kids from age 4.
There’s a shopping and dining village right next door, so you’re not stuck eating at the hotel every night. It’s about 20 minutes from the airport, 40 in traffic, which helps after the late flights from Australia.
The catch: it isn’t on the beach. The sand is about 3 minutes’ walk away, along walkways, and there are buggies if you’d rather ride.
The service and upkeep are uneven too. Rooms aren’t always ready at check-in time, and some are starting to look worn.
Book it if you're a family of four and want the kids in their own room, with a big pool and a kids club.
Skip it if you want the sand at your door, or a quiet pool.
Pullman Bali Legian Beach
The Pullman is the sensible base for Legian. It’s a 5-star hotel that costs mid-range money.
The pool I’d be in is up on the third floor. It’s an adults-only infinity pool facing west over the ocean, with a bar, and I’d get there by about 4:30 pm for a sunset seat. Down in the garden there’s a lagoon pool and a kids pool.
You can walk to Legian’s restaurants and bars. It’s about 15 minutes from the airport, 30 in traffic.
For a family of four, the Exclusive Family Room has a king and a futon. The Junior Family Suite has a king and two singles.
The catch: the rooms are dated, and some ground-floor rooms smell damp. I think it’s overdue a refurbishment.
The Ocean View rooms face busy Jalan Melasti, and they’re the noisiest. I’d book a garden-view room on a high floor. The beach is across that same road, and it’s a surf beach, so swim between the flags and not with toddlers.
Book it if you're a couple or mates who want a sunset pool and Legian on foot, without paying 5-star prices.
Skip it if you're a light sleeper, you want to swim in the sea, or fresh-looking rooms matter to you.
Sofitel vs Mövenpick
These are Accor’s two family resorts, about 20 minutes apart. They suit different families.
- The beach. The Sofitel is on the sand, with calm water at high tide. The Mövenpick is a 3-minute walk from Jimbaran Bay.
- A family of four. The Mövenpick wins, because the Family Duplex gives the kids their own room. At the Sofitel, four people means a suite or two rooms.
- Pools. The Sofitel, for the 70-metre lagoon and the swim-out rooms.
- Kids club. The Sofitel’s takes babies with a parent, and the first 2 hours a day are free. The Mövenpick’s starts at age 4.
- Rooms. The Sofitel’s were refurbished in 2022 and feel fresher. Some of the Mövenpick’s are starting to look worn.
My pick: the Sofitel as a couple or a family of three. The Mövenpick for a family of four.
Raffles vs Buahan
Accor’s two splurges couldn’t be more different. You’d only weigh them up for a honeymoon.
- Getting there. Raffles is 20 minutes from the airport, on Jimbaran Bay. Buahan is 2 hours away, in the jungle north of Ubud.
- The villa. Both come with your own pool. Raffles’ villas have walls and doors. Buahan’s have neither.
- When to go. Raffles works all year. I’d only book Buahan from May to October.
- Kids. Raffles takes them, though there’s no kids club. Buahan is adults-only.
- Food. Raffles has several restaurants and private dinners. Buahan has one restaurant and a set dinner, mostly plant-based.
My pick: Raffles, for the service and the easy trip. Buahan if you want something you’ve never done before, and you’re going in the dry season.
Not on my list
Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa. It’s a big family resort in Nusa Dua with a kids club, and as of October 2026 it’s partway through a renovation that runs to December 2026. I’d wait until it’s finished.
Novotel Bali Benoa. It’s the cheapest beachfront Accor with a kids club and a bunk-bed family room. The rooms are old and not as clean as I’d want, and the beach is tidal and weedy. I’d book the Mövenpick instead.
Novotel Bali Nusa Dua and Novotel Bali Ubud. The Nusa Dua one isn’t on the beach. The Ubud one opened in April 2026, which is too new to judge. With kids in Ubud, I’d book the Westin Ubud.
Peppers Seminyak and Grand Mercure Bali Seminyak. They’re Accor’s only Seminyak hotels, and neither makes my list of the best luxury hotels in Seminyak.
Where did the Fairmont go? The Fairmont in Sanur is now the InterContinental Bali Sanur, which is on the skip list in my Sanur guide, and Bali’s two MGallery hotels have moved to Marriott.
So, which one should you book?
- Most people: the Sofitel, in a Pool Access room.
- A family of four: the Mövenpick, in the Family Duplex.
- A honeymoon: Raffles, or Buahan if you’re going between May and October.
- A couple or mates who want to go out: the Pullman, in a garden-view room up high.
