The Best Resorts in Nusa Dua for Couples (2026)

Nusa Dua is where I’d send a couple who want to switch off. It’s gated, quiet and about 20 minutes from the airport, up to an hour in traffic. The Laguna is my top pick for couples, thanks to its swim-up lagoon rooms and calm feel, for 5-star money rather than splurge money. You can see all the other options below.

It is not a nightlife area. For that, you’re in a Grab to Seminyak or Uluwatu, which has Bali’s best sunset bars.

My Top Pick

The Laguna, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa

Couples-friendlyWow-factor5-star · ~A$250–500

This is the one I’d book for a couple’s week in Nusa Dua. Mostly that’s because there’s no kids club. That steers families with young kids elsewhere, and the whole resort is calmer for it.

The rest backs it up. The beach is powder-white sand, I love the rooms, and seven saltwater lagoons wind through the whole resort.

As in my Nusa Dua guide, I’d book Lagoon Access if you can. You step off your terrace straight into the water, and that’s why you’re here. If the budget stretches, I’d take the Deluxe Studio Lagoon Access at 48 square metres over the 36-square-metre Deluxe.

There’s an adults-only pool with cabanas at Kulkul Beach House, right on the sand. For the big dinner, I’d book Arwana, the beachfront grill, or ask the hotel to set up a private dinner on the beach.

Compared with the St. Regis, it’s less than half the price. I think it gets you most of the way there.

The catch: the walls are thin, worst in rooms with a connecting door. Ask for a room without one.

Book it if you want a swim-up room and a quiet resort without paying St. Regis prices.

Skip it if you're a light sleeper.

The St. Regis Bali Resort

Couples-friendlyLuxuriousSplurge · ~A$500–1,000

If it’s your honeymoon, this is where I’d spend the money. It’s very luxurious and very private, and you don’t see many kids around.

Every room comes with a 24-hour butler. The dining is high-end, and breakfast is included… with sashimi. For the big night out without leaving the resort, I’d book Kayuputi, its beachfront fine-dining restaurant.

For a honeymoon, I’d skip the entry room and go straight to a villa. The private villas have their own pools, so you can spend the whole day without seeing another guest.

Most people miss this one. Free airport transfers only come with the higher categories. As of October 2026, Marriott lists them for the Pool Suite, the Grand Astor Suite and the villas. Book an entry room and you’re arranging your own car.

Is it worth it? For a honeymoon or a milestone birthday, I’d pay it. For a regular week away, honestly, I’d book The Laguna and spend the difference on a longer trip.

The catch: it’s very quiet. If you want a pool scene, you’ll be bored by day two.

Book it if it's your honeymoon and you're booking a villa or Pool Suite.

Skip it if you'd only book the entry room to say you stayed at the St. Regis. The Laguna is the better deal at that level.

The Reserve at Paradisus by Meliá Bali

Couples-friendlyLuxuriousSplurge · ~A$500–1,000

The only reason I’d book Paradisus as a couple is The Reserve. The rest of the resort is built for families, with two kids clubs and a water park. The Reserve is the adults-only resort hiding inside it.

Paradisus is the old Meliá Bali, rebuilt and reopened in February 2026 as an all-inclusive. The Reserve is its 16-and-over section. It has its own lobby and check-in, its own pool with cabanas, and Sante, a restaurant and bar only Reserve guests can use. Drinks at Sante are free-flowing, and you get priority seating at the other seven restaurants.

The splurge version is a Reserve Garden Villa, which has its own pool and a 24-hour butler. I’d book one for a honeymoon if you’d rather have everything included than have the St. Regis name.

I like it for couples because all-inclusive works best when you’d eat in anyway, and in Nusa Dua you usually do. If you’re having cocktails by the pool every arvo, I think The Reserve works out cheaper than The Laguna once you add meals and drinks.

The Laguna is the better hotel. The Reserve is the better deal if you eat and drink a lot.

The catch: only Sante and the Reserve pool are adults-only. Every other restaurant is shared with the family side, so dinner can mean the table next to an eight-year-old’s birthday party.

It’s also not as all-inclusive as it sounds. You book every dinner at check-in, and premium spirits cost extra. The Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve gala dinners are compulsory and charged on top.

The Reserve perks only come with a Reserve room, and not every package sells one. Check the room name says Reserve before you pay.

Book it if you want everything included and an adults-only pool to come back to.

Skip it if sharing a dinner room with kids would ruin your night, or you like eating out.

So, which one should you book?

  • If I could only book one: The Laguna, in a Lagoon Access room.
  • Honeymoon: The St. Regis, in a villa or Pool Suite, so the airport transfer is included.
  • You like a drink and don’t want a bill at the end: The Reserve at Paradisus. Only book it if the room name says Reserve.
  • Light sleepers: the St. Regis. Thin walls are The Laguna’s weak spot.
